Poster to promote MIT Optical

We would like a poster-size illustration advertising the MIT Optical Eyeglass Store (http://medweb.mit.edu/directory/ser…tical.html). The optical store is located across campus from where MIT patients receive their eye exams, so we want to send a message to patients to remind them that the store exists, where it is located, and that we sell glasses that they can purchase at MIT Optical.

This “movie-size” poster (27 in X 40 in) will be prominently placed within the waiting area of our Eye Service. As a result, it needs to be appropriate for a medical waiting room: classy, somewhat elegant, and should look like a piece of art rather than a billboard. While we are looking to entice people to head to the store, we will not be putting phone numbers or URLs on the poster.

We are open to design ideas, but have a few things in mind for now. Something art deco themed, or perhaps in the style of the 1930’s travel posters. The main goal is to create an interesting piece of art that will draw attention and get people to think about going across campus to purchase glasses. Some ideas include an image of an MIT shuttle (http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2009/…92309.html) with a slogan that says something like “Make MIT Optical your next stop” or “Take a ride over to MIT Optical”

We should also have the poster read “Stratton Student Center - lower level”

Attached is our logo in vertical or horizontal. Either one is acceptable for use, but the logo will most likely need to fit somewhere on the poster.
