Although we have a more than substantial amount of relative traffic, few of them are following up on our services regardless of our superiority in price, services offered, reliability, etc. than most of our competitors in the area.
Our goal is to reform the current US Window& Door website to that of a site on par with http://www.milgard.com/ both in terms of functionality and aesthetics. Our new website will contain a lot more features (similar to those on Milgard’s site) and will require several unique pages designed. We’re starting with a 2-page design (homepage-subpage) as our current basis for the new design that way we can get something updated ASAP, additionally it’ll work as a structure for the new website to come.
We want you to redesign our current website (with the same functionality on uswindow-door.com and whatever is specified later in this post) into a new website featuring simplicity, ease of access, a stunning design which should result in something like milgard.com.. Milgard’s designers somehow managed to create a simple website, which offers a plethora of choices/content. We want to replicate that.
We’re going to get rid of the box on our current website that says “Do not purchase any new windows until you read this report” along with the “connect with us” and “our customers” boxes. Instead, having a facebook icon would be better and a testimonials page (please have a method of getting to both from the homepage)
We will also be adding the ability to: Download Brochure, Request a quote and Free expert consultation. Whether getting to these pages are done via clicking a link, button or box is up to you. Additionally, we would like to have a search bar.
The box showing rebates & savings is a box meant to serve as notification on current savings/deals. It’s far too bulky and doesn’t stress simplicity like Milgard.com
Maybe you can incorporate the costco.com logo, trusted home services, and a better business bureau logo the footer somewhere, as greyscale icons that are a lot smaller. When hovering over them some sort of jquery effect that will display our relationship with text.
For the rotator first slide on the homepage, we’d like to have something similar to Milgard’s endless summer savings, except directed towards winter and going over the benefits of having double plated glass windows during the winter. You can use dummy text, we’ll replace it later. We like how advanced/stunning/colorful their rotator is, catching the users eye.
As for the subpages we’re going to use a similar layout to the subpages on Milgard: http://www.milgard.com/windows/alum…/standard/ - We really like what the did where there’s a sub-navigation to the left of the body, featuring everything on the homepage in a url format.
We look forward to your submissions and will be checking daily for updates to provide direction on how we want you to proceed.
