Zandrael continued to rise, by no will of her own, without flapping her wings. She no longer felt solid, but light, airy. No wonder being human felt so heavy to her.
As Zandrael rose, her skin became transparent at first, then shone like millions of diamonds, on fire. In place of her hair was a crown of liquid fire floating around her head, swirling, much like the molten lava of her eyes. Her wings shone with the same transparent amber glow and faded off into nothingness, as did the bottom half of her body.
Her friends gazed at her in awe, mouths hanging open. It wasn’t the physical change that left them speechless, it was how they felt in her presence. It was like being in the presence of something sacred, powerful, pure energy. Tenanye could see why people would think she was an angel.
As Zandrael dropped to the ground, her feet reappeared as transparent diamonds, like the rest of her skin. They barely touched the ground.")
