The poster had to use at least one image from the GraphicStock library.
When thinking back on all of the 80's movies I love to watch and re-watch, Sixteen Candles definitely ranks among my favorites. It has all the good parts that make up the perfect 80's move recipe, including Molly Ringwald! I wanted to design a poster that mixed some of the bold 80's vibe with an updated modernity. Vivid colors, a bold script, and a bit of a sketched feel to the art kept the feeling of the poster fun.
From the GraphicStock library I used the following two vectors:

Clean, clever, at times a bit whimsical and other times a bit edgy -- my designs are influenced both by imagination and reality. I like to extract inspiration from my dual background as both an artist and biochemist. Having a multi-faceted set of interests gives me a unique perspective that translates into a signature style that remains malleable in the face of new design challenges.
