The design required a large amount of custom code as there were changes to the mobile site and various design tweaks that weren't available readily on Squarespace.
For the development I worked closely with the client, updating them throughout the process and working to their tight deadline.")

The design had a number of parts that required custom code within Squarespace such as the floating image (image 2 below), lines under the newsletter and contact forms (image 3 below) and the style of the cookie banner (image one above).
Upon completion of development I created a user guide for Kevin so he can update the site in the future himself.")

I created the website in Squarespace so that the client could update the website themsevles and limit any future costs. The initial booking system was then created within AirBnb as we knew this got local results very fast. Within 24 hours the new business had bookings.
The site needed to be simple yet stylish and use colours of nature. I created a simple logo that the client approved from 5 designs, this was then used throughout to keep branding consistent.")

-Create a store for products and then a second store for gallery prints.
-Set up a mail subscription service on the site so Steve can keep his customers updated via email.
-Develop a blog so that Steve can write monthly newsletters.
I also used custom code to perform the following:
-Indent the tag line
-Change font to keep it consistent throughout the site
-Remove the padding from the top of the individual product pages so the text and image aligns
-Change 1 line of text to a different colour
-Change the text overlay so that it all looks uniform
-Stop text hyphenating
-Ensure the social media icons display the same on both desktop and mobile in a line of 4")

-Making improvements to the existing Squarespace site and creating new content when required (such as product listings)
-Adding videos to the site via YouTube that do not show suggested videos at the end
-Inserting buttons into certain pages that will allow the user to email Fran about a certain product, and pre-fill the subject line accordingly
-Understanding the user journey and suggesting improvements to the existing website based on this

The website was completed within 7 days as requested.
The site was developed based on designs created in Sketch and followed strict font and colour schemes. Developing based on designs meant that custom code was needed to change things such as the navigation menu, forms and certain fonts but I ensured this wasn't done in the backend, so the user can update the site themselves upon completion. Key features included parallax scrolling and custom navigation.")

This was done with a small amount of custom code to target the home page images, set them to full width and then remove padding (white space) around them.
The second task was to go through all the code in the site and check it all made sense and was the most logical way of doing things. This was code that Keith had put into the site himself. It all made sense so I just tidied up the layout slightly and ensured there wasn't any better workarounds.
The final task was to add in a summary at the end of each blog post that showed recent blog posts. With this summary block in place I used custom code to target it, center the heading above it, add some padding and get rid of the arrows when showing on desktop view.")

I worked with Gavin on two separate tasks in July 2020. Firstly he was having an issue with the site footer being too large which was interfering with the menu navigation and hides sections of this menu. To fix this issue I inserted some custom code into his site.
The second task was to redirect the site logo to the store page, as opposed to the home page which was a cover page. This again required some custom code into each pages header
These tasks were completed within 24 hours of initially speaking to Gavin and he has said he will return should his site require any more work.")

-Design a website that represents the brand and what they offer as a business
-Develop the site in Squarespace so they can manage it themselves in the future with the use of a fully personalised user guide
-Purchase a domain and connect it to the site
The website focused on strong imagery to portray their visions, which I sourced for the client. An Instagram box was embedded on the home page to keep this looking regularly updated, an accordion drop down was used for FAQs and Google maps were embedded as this is a physical store.")

I developed the sites to match the PDF designs, with SEO in mind to ensure all keywords were included and the site would perform in search results.
Kathryn also had a strict deadline in which she needed both sites completed, this was stuck to and she was updated daily with progress.
After development, Kathryn contacted me again to assign both 2 URLs to each site from her GoDaddy account and make some tweaks to the content uploaded.
I really enjoyed working with Kathryn and she has already asked if I will work with her on her personal site!")

-Move gallery from one page to another
-Make products and services folder clickable with custom code - the folder name itself needed to take the user to a page that wasn't listed in the dropdown menu
-Add links and content to the footer
-Correct links
-Change buttons on home page and add images above them
-SEO changes based on audit
-Add pages to the top navigation
-Added review section to home page
-Created a personalised user guide to ensure Brie and Chris could manage the site themselves upon completion")

I worked to the Google Doc closely and used custom code where necessary to ensure the site looked exactly how Kathryn wanted it to.
Kathryn also needed her domain, from GoDaddy, linked to her Squarespace site correctly which I completed within half an hour.
Upon completion of this work, Kathryn asked if I would help her with some email marketing designs. I look forward to working with her in the future.")
